Airlines began announcing ticket waivers on Tuesday as storm watches and warnings were issued across the Northeast in anticipation of another major winter storm.
Delta said it also had issued a waiver for customers traveling through Minneapolis/St. Paul on Monday due to heavy snow that disrupted the carrier's operation at its Twin Cities hub. The airline canceled 65 Delta Connection regional flights, primarily to airports in the upper Midwest region where heavy snow and icy conditions were forecast for the day.
Delta said its Northeast operation successfully rebounded March 3 following the strong winter storm that disrupted flights March 2. Approximately 80 flights were canceled March 3 due to schedule disruptions from earlier in the week, the carrier said.
Southwest said that customers who are holding reservations from the afternoon of March 6 through March 8 may rebook without penalty.
