Jackson Airport Gains New Route, Additional Flights

top story photo The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority in Mississippi announced that Via Airlines will launch nonstop service between Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport. The airline will also expand its service between Jackson and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

"We are very happy to have Via Airlines join the fine list of carriers providing service to the Jackson region. One of the goals of our Let's Go National, Strategic Plan 2021 is focused on expanding air service options for the community and Via Airlines' service to the Orlando market helps us achieve that goal," said JMAA CEO Carl D. Newman, who also serves as First Past Chair of AAAE.

Service between Sanford and Jackson begins June 11, with weekly flights on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.
