In a little-noticed Friday afternoon announcement last week, the U.S. Department of Transportation tentatively redistributed Cuba routes to five leading U.S. airlines, including American, Delta, United, Southwest and JetBlue. By an agreement reached between the U.S. and Cuba in 2016, there can be up to 20 daily flights between the U.S. and Havana. Although so far results have been disappointing after an initial flurry of interest, U.S. airlines may see the long-term potential of tourism to the island.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that Bombardier Services Corporation and PSA Airlines, Inc. (PSA Airlines) of Vandalia, Ohio recently signed a three-year extension to the parties' heavy maintenance agreement. Under this contract, heavy maintenance tasks for the airline's fleet of Bombardier CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft will be performed at Bombardier's West Virginia Air Center. Bombardier has conducted heavy maintenance for PSA Airlines since 2005

Lufthansa Cargo will integrate cargo capacity with Brussels Airlines starting Sept. 1, 2018. Brussels Airlines, a Lufthansa Group subsidiary, will become the fifth Lufthansa Group airline to have its cargo operations marketed by Lufthansa Cargo, including Lufthansa (mainline), Austrian Airlines, Eurowings and Sun Express. Brussels Airlines’ 17 destinations in West, Central and East Africa fit ideally into the existing group cargo network, Lufthansa Cargo said.
