Hawaiian Posts 2Q Net Profit of $79.5 Million as Volcano Affects Demand

Hawaiian Airlines managed to increase its net profit in the second quarter, despite challenges such as continuing volcanic activity on Hawaii’s Big Island, which has affected demand. Hawaiian reported a net profit of $79.5 million for the quarter, up by $2.6 million year-on-year. However, the results would have been stronger if not for the volcano, and an associated slowdown in bookings, CEO Peter Ingram said.
